Suite of Products Verses One Product

I know you mentioned today - any more than ONE Product is confusing to offer, but I know we are supposed to create a suite of products.

Are the suite of products the upsell that will happen AFTER the ONE product is sold or IF they didn't buy the one product that was offered?
