Embedding without any History

I understand the process of embedding.  If I don't have past examples to embed because I'm brand new, is the only recommendation you have to say at the end of your topic, "This is the kind of thing we're going to talk about in my...".  Are there ways to embed without having actual history?  If not, should I create the "history" before my speech on stage?
